Felix’ first full day

Felix’ first full day (4th January 2021), was mainly spent sleeping. He is still happy to sleep in his makeshift bed (It’s a well worn black hoodie) on the sofa.

I changed his food to Felix Kitty food, the name of the popular cat food and the likeness of its trademarked character are purely coincidence. My felix is named after the 1920s Cartoon cat 😉

The likeness is purrly coincidental.

I’m hoping that the change in food will make his poos that much more solid. He can use his tray, but some of his poo is dropping on the carpet. He’ll need his vaccinations in the next fortnight, so he’ll be seeing a vet, I just hope that the poo problem is just him settling in and the variety of food.

England is on lockdown again with the Coronavirus outbreak. There are a couple of new strains of the virus on the increase. One of the strains is homegrown and come from Kent in the south-east of England and the other seems to have come from South Africa. The new strains are apparantly more contagious and the new South African strain might even defeat the newly developed vaccines. Supermarkets, pet shops and vets are still going to be open, but otherwise travel needs to be essential.

Felix is definitely more comfortable with me. He doesn’t seem to like squeaky toys, but he loves trying to scratch my hand and eat my poor fingers. He’ll roll on his back and let you tickle his tummy, so he seems happy.

Today, Tuesday, 5th January, he had a good sleep last night, though he has mastered opening the sitting room door and at 4am he was meowing outside my door. I went back in the sitting room with him and I think he was just lonely.

A mostly uneventful afternoon, I moved him into the hall to hoover up and he’s back in the sitting room. He was watching me type this out, but has now fallen asleep on top of a cushion. I hope he is having wonderful dreams.
