Felix is 9 weeks old

I wonder if 9 weeks old is the equivalent of a kitten teenager? Felix is staying up until all hours, biting, scratching and punching and that’s before I even say hello.

This week, Felix is a lot more boisterous. He’s biting harder with his needle-like teeth and the claws are sinking in deeper. He’s also taken to grabbing hold of my ankle and wrapping himself around it and biting and scratching. He’s fed up with cuddles and only purrs when he is biting. Apparently, it’s all quite normal though. Some cat expert says that you have to start whistling or clicking like the father in The Sound of Music. Maybe.

Today is the weekly weigh-in. Felix is 738g (26oz). Last week he was 559g, so it’s an increase of 24%. The gap between his ears is 50mm (last week 35mm), from the bottom of his neck to where his tail starts is 200mm (7.83″; 175mm last week, a 12.5% increase) and his tail is 110mm (4.33″). Felix has got bigger but not by much. Otherwise, he’s happy and healthy and despite his naughty fighting, I love him.
