Felix’ 2nd Week

It’s two weeks since Felix arrived in his new home and I he’s started getting used to the different rooms, playing with toys but still biting and scratching.

The biggest drama this week was my fault. I was sat with Felix at the table and as I was distracted by the television, I turned my head around to catch Felix with his head in my mug of milky tea lapping it up. He’d been very boisterous all day, so if the caffeine in the tea had any effect it wasn’t obvious. What was particularly obvious was the after-effects of milk in the tea, nasty little squishy poos dropping out of Felix. Not good. Felix’ previous carer told me that he loves cat milk (it’s a specially formulated milk substitute), but I haven’t given him any yet until I’m sure his stomach is 100%.

Since Felix arrived he’s escewed any toys I’ve tried to give him. Sometimes he seemed frightened of them and sometimes just indifferent. The only thing that he’s enjoyed playing with is the carboard inside of a toilet roll. He can bite and grab and kick that with his back legs rolling on the floor. In the last two days he’s started playing with more convetional cat toys, with feathers and string and bells.

Felix loves climbing and I know he’s going to knock everything off my desk

Two weeks in, I’m just happy that lil Felix is healthy and happy. He’s full of energy and even purrs when he’s biting and scratching me, so that can’t be a bad sign can it? On Wednesday, 20th January 2021, he should be 10 weeks old. I’m really hoping that his weight is upto 1kg (2.2Ibs) then and that I can make an appointment for him to get his kitten vaccinations.
